Hps Grow Lighting
Can a marijuana plant sprout and grow leaves under a 10watt fluorescent tube?
I just want to know if it would grow leaves so then i can transplant it under my 400watt hps light. And also when is it a good time to transplant it under a stronger light???
You'd be better off starting your seedling under a higher wattage CFL (Compact fluorescent light). Generally, HPS is used for flowering, but with such limited fluoro light in the beginning, I'd run your seedling under HPS (18 hours on, 6 hours off) from the time it sprouts its second set of true leaves. Be sure to keep the light well above the seedling as HPS light is hot and can easily burn your fragile baby. Once the plant is 1/3 to 1/2 the size you eventually want it to be, flip the timing of the on off cycle to 12/12 to induce flowering. The plant will continue to grow to 2 to 3 times it's height as it begins to flower.
