In the winter of 2006–2007, unusually cold weather led to a huge surplus of snowmobiles all over Minnesota. Fully explain how the surplus came about and how the "invisible hand" dealt with this surplus.
Assuming you got the surplus/demand the correct way...
The unusually cold weather contributed to the surplus because it would be either too cold to turn on the snowmobile, or too cold to ride them. Because the snowmobiles had low value to their owners, they were sold. However, as many people followed this reasoning, as well as the companies making them, there was a large surplus of snowmobiles. To relieve this surplus, the "invisible hand" lowered prices for the snowmobiles so more were either bought, or taken off the market.
