Flashlight Light Lamp
The light that lights my laptop screen wont come on?
it flickered one day and then just turned off completely. its soo dark i have to use a strategically placed lamp and i was using a flashlight to see the screen before.
i have a HP Pavillion dv1000 laptop. how do i fix this and how much will it cost. the comps like 31/2 to 4 years old.

do i have to replace the screen? nothings wrong with the screen itself i just have no light behind it. ya kno?
The CCFL backlight on the screen has failed.
Replacing the Power inverter could remedy the issue, but it is more likely to be the lamp itself.
It is not easy to find a place that will replace a Backlight for you, I would suggest trying HP themselves.
Replacing the screen would probably be the easiest option, but it would be more costly as well.
