Building a PC - Friend's Recommendation...any good?

I'm looking into building a all-purpose desktop PC, and my friend has recommended all this...What do you think?
Is it any good; can I get the same/better for cheaper/the same price; should I go for different components?

If i had the money.. i'd have one of those too.
Keep in mind that you will still need to buy an operating system.
And... maybe you'll need to buy a flat screen 20'' widescreen to match your video card, or maybe 2 flat screens, as that video card can handle them.
