LED Lamp Light
Best Acne Lamp?? LED or Fluorescent bulbs? ?
Hi. I am looking into buying a home Red/Blue acne lamp. I'm not really trying to save money on the initial purchase, but I would like something that lasts a while and is able to have replacement bulbs (so I don't have to buy a whole new one)
I see lots with LED light, and others with Fluorescent looking bulbs; the replacement bulbs look as though they cost about the same price.
I need it to fit my travel needs: I live at college during the school year, work an hour away on the weekends staying with my boyfriend, and I travel a lot on airplanes.
So, naturally I was looking into one of those hand held lamps with both red and blue LED lights. (not a pen with like 3 bulbs on it)
Or maybe I would get a desktop one (like the verilux clearWave or NatureBright one that is similar) and also a hand held for my travels?
What do you suggest?
laydren, acne lamps don't have the same damaging effects of tanning beds. they are completely different.
LED lights are much safer and easier to travel with (very hard to break, where fluorescent can break much easier). There's also much more research showing how LED lights can help the skin. Neither should be powerful enough lights to tan or damage your skin (as long as the fluorescent lights don't have UVA or UVB ratings), so you should be safe on that bet.
Personally, I would suggest the LED lights, but those tend to run a little higher prices in some places. In any case, I wish you good luck!
