Film editing effect similar to slow shutter speed in photography?
Hey, I was at my cousin's house and we were messing around with slow shutter speed photos and a flashlight. I was wondering if anyone has done/any program can do a similar effect with film. E.G. Take a normal film clip, edit the levels so only the super bright is seen, ADD each frame to the previous one (so that, at the end, ALL the frames are added together) and then add all this as an overlay to the regular film at 50% opacity or the like. I guess the film camera should have a slow shutter speed each frame (I have no clue how this works) so that the flashlight is blurred into a line from one frame to the next. The desired effect would be watching the people draw in real-time while the product is shown on top as it is drawn.
And above all, how can I do this for free...or, at least what program do I use?

You can definitely do this with 3-D Max software which allows you to do rendering etc...
The exact name is Autodesk 3-d Max. Industry standard. I don't know if they have free trial editions but you can check here
