Christmas Wedding Party
Does anyone else feel depressed after attending a party, wedding or family gathering?
After a birthday party, christmas gathering or wedding, especially w/family members, I feel very sad and depressed. I am married and not lonely at all really, but I almost feel let down and neglected. I can't explain it. Does anyone else feel this way.
I think it is important for you to try and pinpoint exactly what is making you feel this way. Are you not being included or are you not volunteering to help with things? Sometimes it is less about how others treat you and more about how you handle the situation. I'm wondering if you should try to include yourself and socialize more, or if there are particular family members/people who are excluding you.
Sometimes just adjusting your attitude can help, but if people are obviously excluding you and ignoring you then your feelings are well founded. Unfortunately you can not control other peoples action, but only your reactions. If they ignore you, then they are not worth your time. Instead find people who appreciate you and socialize with them. Or limit the amount of time that you socialize with them all together.
I think we've all felt this way at one time or another for various reasons, so you just need to figure out the best way you should handle it!
