Why does my PIR sensor-controlled light stay on constantly?
Yesterday, I was trying to work out where the main switch was for my outdoor security light which works with a PIR sensor. This was already built into the house I bought so I had to experiment. First I 'switched on' the light by putting my hand over the PIR sensor, then I switched various switches on and off until I worked out which one would switch the light of altogether. I then switched the light/sensor back on again but since then it has not switched off at all.
It used to be set to be off EXCEPT when motion was detected AT NIGHT ONLY. Now it is just permanetly on.
Have I broken something - do I have to replace the sensor? Or is it a matter of a setting.
I already tried switching it off for several minutes and then back on again but it does not help.
Probably have a two way switch.
